Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Cloze app ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Where mandatory local laws of your country conflict with these Terms, those local laws take precedence for users in that country.

2. Eligibility — Age Requirements

🇹🇭 Thailand	20 years (legal adult under Thai Civil Code)
🇰🇷 South Korea	19 years (Youth Protection Act)
All other countries	18 years

Users under the minimum age are strictly prohibited from registering. Falsifying your date of birth to circumvent age restrictions is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

3. Account Registration

Registration requires: (1) agreement to these Terms and the Privacy Policy; (2) date of birth verification (Korea: PASS identity verification); (3) phone number verification; and (4) consent to data processing for cloud storage.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. The Service

Cloze allows registered users to:

• Send an anonymous message to a recipient by entering their phone number
• Set the number of guess attempts the recipient may make
• Purchase Ruby gems (virtual currency) to unlock premium features
• Receive notification if the recipient successfully identifies them (mutual match)

The Service does not guarantee any particular outcome, including successful matching or any response from the recipient.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the Service to:

• Send harassing, threatening, abusive, or defamatory messages
• Send messages to a person without their reasonable expectation (e.g., complete strangers with no prior relationship)
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent the anonymity system
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the service
• Use the service for commercial solicitation or spam

Violation may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

6. Ruby Gems (Virtual Currency)

• Ruby gems are virtual goods with no cash value and cannot be exchanged for real money or transferred between accounts.
• Pricing varies by country. Prices are displayed in local currency at the time of purchase.
• All purchases are final. Refunds are subject to the refund policy of Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
• We reserve the right to modify the Ruby gem system, pricing, and features with reasonable advance notice.

7. Anonymity and Privacy

The Service is designed to protect sender anonymity. However, you acknowledge that:

• The Service cannot guarantee complete anonymity in all circumstances (e.g., the recipient may deduce your identity from contextual clues in your message).
• You are solely responsible for the content of your messages and for ensuring they comply with all applicable laws.
• Company may disclose information to law enforcement agencies when legally required to do so.

8. Content and Conduct

You are solely responsible for any content you transmit through the Service. By using the Service, you represent that your messages do not violate any laws, third-party rights, or these Terms.

Cloze does not pre-screen message content but reserves the right to remove content and terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion is irreversible. All account data and confession history will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice for material violations of these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY PARTICULAR RESULT WILL BE ACHIEVED.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLOZE INC. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence are not affected by this limitation.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms with at least 30 days' advance notice via in-app announcement and email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Seoul, Korea, unless mandatory local law in your country requires otherwise.

For EU/EEA consumers: Your statutory rights under local consumer law are unaffected by this clause.
